Your right to request deletion
If you have used Get Chow to place an order via WhatsApp, you can ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you.
What we hold
Your WhatsApp number and profile name, your order history, the messages in your order thread, and payment confirmation records (never your full card number).
How to request deletion
Email hello@getchow.co.za from, or mention, the WhatsApp number you ordered with, with the subject line "Data deletion request". We may ask one question to confirm it's your number before we act.
What we delete
We remove or anonymise your name, WhatsApp number and message content so that you can no longer be identified from them.
What we must keep
South African tax law requires us to retain order and payment records for 5 years. Within that period we keep those transaction records in de-identified form (with your personal identifiers removed) and delete them once the retention period ends.
Timing
We complete deletion requests within 30 days.
